- Ground screws usually come in multiple shapes. Common ones include cylindrical shapes, where the threaded part is cylindrical. This shape enables them to distribute the force evenly during installation. For example, when fixing some small equipment supports in construction, cylindrical ground screws can well adapt to circular or square installation holes, and fit tightly with the pre-buried parts on the ground or specialized installation bases through the threads.
- There are also some ground screws with square heads. The square heads facilitate the tightening operation using tools such as wrenches. For instance, when installing the supporting structure of some large outdoor advertising boards, square-headed ground screws allow workers to grip the head with a wrench and quickly and accurately tighten it to the appropriate position.

- The pitch and depth of the threads of ground screws are carefully designed based on their load-bearing requirements and usage environment. For occasions with higher load-bearing requirements, the pitch will be relatively smaller and the thread depth will be deeper. For example, ground screws used to fix heavy machinery in industrial plants have threads that can provide sufficient friction and bite force to prevent the machinery from loosening due to vibration during operation. The material and surface treatment of the threads are also important. Usually, they undergo anti-corrosion treatment, such as galvanization or nickel plating, to prevent rusting of the threads in the humid ground environment and ensure their long-term fastening performance.
3. Connection Components Matching
- Ground screws are usually accompanied by corresponding nuts and washers. The main function of the washers is to prevent the nuts from directly contacting the object being fixed, thereby providing protection and distributing pressure. For example, when installing the base of some precision instruments, the washers can prevent scratches on the surface of the instrument base when the nuts are tightened. Moreover, the washers can also play a certain sealing role to prevent liquids such as rainwater from seeping into the connection point between the nut and the screw. The quality of the nuts is also crucial; they need to have sufficient strength to match the threads of the ground screws and ensure the reliability of the entire fastening system.

- The ground screws can securely fix the object to the ground. Taking outdoor fitness equipment as an example, by driving the ground screws into the pre-drilled holes on the ground and then connecting the base of the fitness equipment to the ground screws, it can ensure that the equipment will not shift or topple during long-term use due to external forces (such as human movement force, wind force, etc.). This is because the combination of the ground screws and the ground is achieved through the interlocking of the threads and the close cooperation with the ground material (such as concrete), and its bearing capacity can meet the fixed requirements of most objects.
2. Easy to install and dismantle
- Installing the ground screws is relatively simple. After drilling a hole on the ground, insert the ground screws into the hole, and then use tools (such as wrenches or power tools) to tighten them. When disassembling, just reverse the operation. For example, in some shopping malls' exhibition halls that need to frequently replace display items, the ground screws can conveniently fix and remove display stands without causing too much damage to the ground, and the installation and disassembly process is fast, saving time and manpower.

- Ground screws can be used for the fixation of various ground materials. For concrete floors, the ground screws can be firmly combined with the concrete through the expansion principle (if it is an expansion ground screw) or the chemical bonding principle (if it is a chemical anchor ground screw). On stone floors, such as marble floors, the ground screws can fix the object by drilling holes in the stone and then using their threads to interact with the internal structure of the stone. However, when using them on stone floors, attention should be paid to the depth and position of the drilling to avoid damaging the integrity of the stone.
