STANDARD NEW CONSTRUCTION CAPS
Q355B New Construction Caps For 1 1/2" Round Corner Square Shaft Piles
We manufacture a wide range of stock and custom fabricated new construction and foundation remediation/repair brackets.
TENSION CAPS – single, double or three bolted for tension or uplift requirements. The bracket can be bolted to the shaft for tension applications, saving welding time and cost.
COMPRESSION CAPS with gravity ‘slip-on’ design. Custom plate sizes, rebar attachments, and bolted versions are also available.
Caps and Brackets are designed to transfer the load of the structure to the helical pile bracket.
For new construction projects, this is typically done by a cap. All projects are different but typically the foundation is dug out, the helical piles are installed to the correct requirements than the caps are placed on the
exposed helical pile. Once inspected and cleared the concrete or foundation system can be adjoined to the helical cap.
Common sizes are 6” x 6”, 8” x 8” or 10” x 10” and come in many different thicknesses. As mentioned as loads increase or decrease we can adjust the size of the cap. These caps come in three finishes; non- galvanized, galvanized, and spray galvanized.
A helical pile is an end-bearing deep foundation system with compression and tension applications. Applying torque to the shaft installs the helical pile with no vibration, no spoils and minimal disturbance. Loads are transferred down the shaft onto the helical plates to the load-bearing strata above and beneath each helical plate. The torque required to install the helical pile correlates to its capacity - the greater the resistance (torque), the denser the soil, and the higher the load-carrying capabilities.
Application
New Construction
Helical piles are excellent for new construction in tension or compression to support a variety of structures ranging from industrial, commercial, institutional, infrastructure and residential applications from one to thirty stories.
Retrofit
Well adapted to the challenges that occur in retrofit applications helical piles are great for adding more capacity to an existing foundation for repairs, remediation or renovation.
Tower Support
From communications to transmisson towers helical piles can be installed in low headroom and in remote areas with difficult access. From new installations to adding capacity to existing structures for new loads helical piles offer flexibility and accessibility.
Slope Stabilization
In areas where traditional slope stabilization methods are not practical or feasible, helical piles offer an option that tackles access challenges and timing.
